The club has a number of coaches, who each focus on different areas of the club. A brief biography of each of them is shown here.
Peter Lee
Peter, based at Ely, coaches the World Class Start team under Rob Roy. He has recently joined the club earlier this year from Durham University, and hopes to expand the hopeful team of young athletes.
Pete Shiels
Pete currently primarily coaches juniors and beginners at Robs, together with some crews from the men's squad.
Pete learnt to scull at Robs seven years ago as a junior. Since then he has done some coaching both in the UK and overseas with various groups of people across a wide range of age groups including veterans. This has included first time novice beginners up to senior 2 level. Places have included Leicester, Netherlands (East of, Gelderland) and New York / New Jersey areas.
Coaching interests include flexibility, core stability and body balance, resistance training, the heart rate range, technical drills and development. Pete remembers not having a coach and developing lots of bad habits as a rower and so aims to assist Robs members to avoid that, and also to make any adjustments necessary as a result of coming from a similar background.
