Enya Meadows and Charlotte Drury finally won a medal after a tough year of coming fourth at The Inter Regionals Regatta, and The National Schools Regatta, so coming away from Nat Champs with a bronze medal left the girls with smiles all round. The girls came 2nd in their heat winning them a place straight in their final on the saturday before getting on to the podium.
Jen Hawton and Anna Railton raced in the Womens Open doubles event. They pulled in forth in their heat going through to Repechage, then made it look easy as they came first in their Rep winning the last place in the final before missing out on a silver medal by less than a second, but the girls were happy with a bronze.
Sam Allen raced his single in the OJ18 1x category coming 2nd in both his heat and repechage. He just missed out on a spot on the podium coming fourth in his final.
Oli Campbell and Sam Allen raced in the OJ18 doubles event, and Ben Hicks was competing in the Open Mens singles, both boats just missing a place in the final coming fourth in their semi's.
Charlotte Drury also raced her single in the GJ15 event, winning a spot in the final after coming thrid in her heat and winning her repechage.
The club also had Josh Tonnar competing in the MU23 1x, Jen Hawton in the W1x, Oli Campbell in the OJ18 1x and a Mens Open Quad racing for the white and maroon army.
A good weekend for the club.
